Welcome to Morrison Music!

Thank you for stopping by! My name is Graeme Morrison and I’m a musician and freelance writer in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

I’m excited to launch Morrison Music for so many reasons, but the biggest (and most obvious) is that I love music. Those who know me know that I’ve lived and breathed the stuff all my life. When I’m not playing music, I’m listening to music. And when I’m not listening to music, I’m asleep.

I was lucky to have grown up in the City of Kawartha Lakes, where I was exposed to so many musical experiences from a young age.

I got to play in marching bands, pit bands at the Academy Theatre in Lindsay, high school jazz and concert bands, community bands, and so much more (including whatever I was doing here >>>).

Music has brought me so much joy throughout my life, and I love sharing that joy with others. I’ve been lucky to teach guitar and bass lessons (when time has allowed) since high school. After pausing throughout the pandemic and for the first few months after my super cool daughter was born, I can’t wait to help people of all ages develop skills to play the music they love.

Offering lessons is only the start of what I want to accomplish with Morrison Music. Over time, I want to contribute to our community’s arts scene so that my daughter’s generation can have access to the same life-changing experiences I have. That could include sharing events or music from local artists on our social channels and newsletter, hosting workshops or camps, connecting musicians with opportunities to perform, or helping musicians find each other.

I’m looking forward to building this thing and am 100% open to any suggestions or questions. If you’re looking for lessons, local playing opportunities, or want to learn more about our community’s arts scene, drop me a line via the contact page.
